The Companion Animal Medical Center team of highly trained doctors, technicians and staff work together for the benefit of their patients. Meet our doctors below.

Dr. Anthony Buzzetti Dr. Anthony Buzzetti has devoted his life to the care and well-being of pets. A 1985 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Buzzetti was a practice owner in Ft. Lauderdale before moving to Iowa to support his wife, Lori, as she pursued her education. In Iowa he managed an emergency hospital that served a community of more than 50 veterinarians. He moved to Indianapolis in 1991 to work at the Airport Emergency Clinic and performed relief veterinary services, all while searching for a location for his Carmel veterinary office.Before opening our flagship location on Rangeline Road, Dr. Buzzetti founded The Downtown Veterinarian and Companion Animal Hospital and the Clinic in Indianapolis. (Those are no longer affiliated with Dr. Buzzetti.)Dr. Buzzetti and Lori have a bustling home, which includes daughter Tessa and son Jake. The Buzzettis’ pets include Charlie (a miniature poodle), Oliver (Havanese mix), Reggie and Peanut (two cute cats) and five hamsters.
Dr. Stacey Amundson Dr. Stacey Amundson is a 2006 graduate of the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. She joined Companion Animal Medical Center in 2009. Dr. Amundson is involved in the community as a member of the Carmel Arrows Young Professionals group and her church. She is passionate about the welfare of her patients and has a particular interest in dermatology. Over the years, Dr. Amundson has enjoyed mentoring undergraduate and high school students who are interested in veterinary medicine.Outside of the office, Dr. Amundson loves gardening and hiking with her husband, scrapbooking, and spending time with their son Keighan and spoiled cat, Paddington.

 

Dr. Nicki Davis Originally from Akron, Ohio, Dr. Nicki Davis grew up rooting for the Buckeyes. She attended the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, where, during her fourth year, she traveled to Italy for a seven-week externship — but never picked up the language. After graduating in 2008, she completed a small animal rotating internship in Maryland and then moved to Vancouver, BC, to complete a one-year neurology internship. Following her neurology internship, she stayed to work part time in the emergency department under the direction of three board-certified Criticalists.After spending two years in beautiful British Columbia, she moved to Carmel to begin working full time as the head of the Companion Animal Medical Center 24/7 emergency department. She brought with her a black Labrador retriever named Riot. In addition to traveling, Dr. Davis enjoys hiking with Riot and photographing the different scenery along the way. She has added another black Lab “Artax”.
Dr. Sheryl JohnsonA 1991 graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Sheryl Johnson has practiced in both the Cincinnati and Indianapolis areas. She enjoys a great respect for the human-animal bond and the special relationships people share with their pets, as she has a special relationship with her own pets. Over the years of helping these relationships through veterinary medicine, Dr. Johnson has also developed a special interest in animal behavior.Dr. Johnson and her husband, Michael, moved to Carmel in 1996. They have two daughters, Kendra and April, who all enjoy traveling as well as serving through their local church. They share their home with two rescued mutts, Cinder and Krystal, as well as two crazy cats, Watson and Dexter, and Quaker parrot Calvin.
Dr. Amanda LovelessDr. Amanda Loveless graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary Medical School. While there, she served in student government and participated in several organizations focusing on nontraditional species, wildlife and integrative medicine. In 2010, she participated in a Rural Area Veterinary Service program that provided free veterinary services to residents of the Shoshone and Paiute Indian Reservations.Before attending veterinary school, Dr. Loveless served a 1½-year mission in Brazil for her church and later spent two months in Mozambique, Africa, serving the people and teaching English. Fluent in Portuguese, she graduated with Honors from Brigham Young University in Utah.Dr. Loveless and her husband, John Braun, have two mixed-breed dogs, Ox and Millee. A skilled fly-fisher and horseback rider, she has taught both skills at a dude ranch in Vail, Colorado. She has traveled extensively and has a deep passion for helping animals and people.
Dr. Elizabeth Morrison Dr. Elizabeth Morrison attended Purdue University for both her undergraduate and veterinary medicine degrees. She graduated in 1998 and has worked in Carmel since then. Dr. Morrison joined Companion Animal Medical Center in January 2011. Her professional interests include ophthalmology and dentistry. She also enjoys working with senior clients and pets.Dr. Morrison lives in Carmel with her husband, Dan. They have two children, Ben and Elsa, and multiple four-legged friends. She spends her personal time cooking, wine tasting and attending sporting events.
Dr. Arielle PechetteDr. Arielle Pechette graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, cum laude with honors, from Colorado State University in 2010. She previously received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, with minors in biochemistry and molecular biology, from Colorado State University. She also completed master’s work in immunology. While in veterinary school, she completed an intensive Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians program and is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist.After veterinary school, Dr. Pechette decided to move back to her home state of Indiana to be closer to her husband. Her primary interests include internal medicine, emergency/critical care medicine, orthopedics, surgery and acupuncture.Dr. Pechette and her husband, Bob, share their historic home in Carmel with dogs Monza and Schotzie, and cats Niamh, Snickerdoodle and Mercutio. In her free time, Dr. Pechette enjoys marathon running, cycling, yoga and pilates.
Dr. Andrea VanderpoolDr. Andrea Vanderpool graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She has practiced veterinary medicine and emergency medicine in Indianapolis and Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Vanderpool is passionate about caring for your treasured pet and especially enjoys internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and feline medicine.She and her husband, Charlie, live in Carmel with their two young daughters and Vinny, the family’s feisty cat. In her free time, Dr. Vanderpool enjoys running, camping and reading.
stuart_216Dr. M. Susan Stuart Dr. M. Susan Stuart was born and raised in northern New Hampshire. She graduated from Gould Academy in Maine, shortly after she attended and graduated from Richmond College in London, England majoring in social psychology and women’s studies.
Dr. Stuart went on and graduated from North Carolina State University-College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Following her husband, Dr. Jan Hawkins, a large animal surgeon, Dr. Stuart moved to Texas then Pennsylvania and finally the couple settled in Indiana where Dr. Hawkins is on the faculty at the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine.
They have four insanely busy children: Emma 9, Caroline 12, Hannah 17, John 18 and lots and lots of fuzzy and feathered companions (and three fish).
Her hobbies include scrapbooking, traveling, reading, gardening and participating in children’s activities. Most recent trips were to Grenada and Disney World where all three daughters performed in the night time parade, and in Downtown Disney, and competed at Twirl Mania. The family’s next trip planned is a cruise to the Bahamas.
